Neighborhood

El Gastor is a municipality and town in Spain, located in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. Its municipal area limits to the north with Algodonales, to the south with Grazalema, to the east with Montecorto (Málaga) and to the west with Zahara de la Sierra. With an altitude of 590 meters and 131 kilometers from the provincial capital, Cádiz, it is part of the White Villages Route and is located in a natural environment between the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and the countryside.
With a population of around 1,726 inhabitants, El Gastor is known as the "balcony of the White Villages" and is the last town in the Sierra de Cádiz that borders the Ronda mountain range, associated with the story of the famous bandit José María 'El Tempranillo'.
The most important festival in El Gastor is Corpus Christi, which has been celebrated since 1747 and has been declared of Tourist Interest in Andalusia. This festival is the most popular in El Gastor and takes place in June. During this celebration, the town changes its appearance with landscapes of branches, sedges and flowers, creating a unique beauty with its aromas and images. In addition, other notable festivities in El Gastor include the festival of the Patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary, which is celebrated on October 7, and the Diego del Gastor Flamenco Festival, which usually coincides with the Patroness festival in October.
The municipality is located in a natural setting between the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and the countryside, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the rich history and stunning natural beauty of the region.
